The world-famous TikTok star Khaby Lame, whose real name is Seringe Khabane Lame, has left the USA after a brief detention by immigration agents at an airport in Las Vegas last week. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) representative reported that Lam arrived in the USA on April 30 and was accused of overstaying his visa.
Lam, who is a UNICEF goodwill ambassador and has over 162 million followers on TikTok, was released the same day and then left the USA. The ICE representative stated that Lam was allowed voluntary departure to avoid a deportation order, which would have barred him from entering the USA for up to 10 years.
It is claimed that the 18-year-old "pro-Trump influencer" Bo Loudon tipped off the authorities about Lam's case, publicly stating that he "discovered he was illegal" and worked with immigration services to have him deported.
According to the USA's visa-waiver program, Italian citizens can stay in the country for up to 90 days without a visa for business or tourism. Lam entered the USA on April 30, but ICE claims he overstayed his visa.
Lam, who was born in Senegal but has lived in Italy since the age of one, received Italian citizenship in August 2022. He became the most-followed creator on TikTok in 2022, becoming an international celebrity and signing marketing deals.
Lam has not publicly commented on the incident, and an ICE representative stated that this is all the available information on the case.
