Michael Dameski comes to Sozopol: A unique chance for Bulgarian dancers

Sozopol is becoming a focal point for dance art this summer. The city will host special masterclasses featuring the world-renowned choreographer and dancer Michael Dameski. The event, which will take place on August 21 and 22, offers an unprecedented opportunity for local talents to learn from the experience of an artist of the highest rank.

"This is an opportunity for Bulgarian dancers to draw experience directly from a stage that dictates global trends in contemporary dance," note the organizers from the Municipality of Sozopol.

Who is Michael Dameski?

Michael Dameski is a name behind some of the biggest music productions in the world. He is the winner of the Australian edition of "So You Think You Can Dance" and a finalist in the prestigious World of Dance competition. His portfolio includes work with global superstars such as:

  • Rihanna
  • Lady Gaga (The Mayhem Ball tour)
  • Sabrina Carpenter
  • Kylie Minogue
  • Jisoo

Dameski is not just a performer – he is a visionary who recently shone on the stage of the Coachella festival and took part in the historic concert on Copacabana Beach in front of nearly 2 million people.

Part of Sozopol's major cultural event

Dameski's visit is a key element of the Dance Camp’26 program and the International Art Dance Olympiad "Harmony and Strength". These initiatives have been established in the cultural calendar of Sozopol since 2007 and attract hundreds of participants every year.

The event is organized by the Bulgarian Federation of Sports and Dance Disciplines with the support of the Municipality of Sozopol, which provides the premises of the local school for conducting the training sessions. This is further proof that Sozopol is not only a seaside destination but also a city with a vibrant cultural and sporting life.
