The "Vasil Levski" Capital Airport is on its way to reaching new heights in passenger service in 2025. According to Dimitar Dikov, the airport's Chief Marketing and Business Development Director, a 7.5% growth has already been reported for the first five months of the year compared to the same period in 2019. The number of destinations served is expected to reach 85, with 8 new destinations added to the current ones, served by 30 airlines.
The largest markets for the airport are Germany and the United Kingdom, with a significant increase in flights to European cities. Dikov points out that Bulgarians are traveling more and more to exotic destinations around the world. The expectations are that 2025 will end with around 8.5 million passengers served, which represents a 20% increase compared to the pre-pandemic 2019.
