The mayor of the capital Vasil Terziev announced that over the past few weeks, more than 1000 new trees and shrubs have been planted in Sofia. This large-scale greening campaign is part of an innovative approach aimed at the sustainable development of the city's green system.

According to Terziev, the key principles of this method are not yet fully visible, but over time they will lead to a tangible increase in green areas and an improvement in the air quality in the capital. The main elements of the approach include investments in larger and more sustainable seedlings, a precise selection of areas for greening based on an analysis of their vulnerability, as well as the introduction of modern slow irrigation systems.
