Three cars crashed on the Karnobat–Aytos road shortly before 6pm today, killing one person and seriously injuring another, Burgas police said.

The dead man was the driver of one of the cars. He died at the scene. Police have not yet identified him.

The injured man, 67, drove the second car. He was taken to hospital in Burgas.

The third car was driven by a 55-year-old Turkish citizen. His tests for alcohol and drugs were negative.

On 10 October, at about 3.45pm, two Volkswagen Golf cars collided head-on on the Karnobat–Aytos–Burgas road. Both drivers died at the scene: a 43-year-old man from Aytos and a 30-year-old woman from Burgas. We reported on the case on 15 October.

The road is closed at the site. Drivers can use a detour between the turn-offs for the villages of Sokolovo and Klikach.
