Bulgaria will get help from US State Department experts to draw up rules on drones. That's according to Hristo Gadzhev, deputy head of parliament's defence committee. The US experts met lawmakers from the defence and internal security committees in parliament today.

The meeting covered how to use anti-drone systems, how to protect critical infrastructure, and how to split responsibilities between ministries.

The goal is for Bulgaria to adopt a national strategy modelled on the Baltic states, which already run similar systems and are being used as an example.

Gadzhev said the meeting had been on the schedule for a long time and has nothing to do with the incident in the Black Sea.

An official US mission is expected in early 2027, when the strategy itself will be drawn up.
