The transport ministry said a plane flying from Tel Aviv to Vienna made an emergency landing at Sofia airport this evening after a bomb threat on board.
The threat came in during the flight, near the Romanian border. The crew of the A320 reported it and decided to land in Sofia.
The air force sent a fighter jet, which escorted the plane down in line with standard procedure.
Passengers were taken off the plane. The responsible institutions began a check, and a task force was set up to handle the case.
Early reports say there were 51 passengers and 6 crew members on board.
