The Road Infrastructure Agency (API) has launched an online platform with live road information. The agency said it has also updated data on roadworks and restrictions on national roads, including those in Burgas region.

Regional development minister Ivan Shishkov said yesterday that the free system will go live after 7pm at traffic.api.bg.

Where it began: Road agency launches free website showing roadworks and traffic jams in real time

The interactive map shows roadworks, restrictions, accidents and possible hazards on the road. Traffic data is in one place and can be filtered by type of vehicle.

On the Trakia motorway towards Burgas, between Vinarsko and Balgarovo, the speed limit is 80 km/h while crews lay road markings. Between Malenovo and Burgas, crews are mowing and clearing the roadside in both directions.

On the main I-9 road between Pomorie and Burgas, and on the stretch between Obzor and Nesebar, the limit is 50 km/h because of repairs and resurfacing. Near Karnobat and in the Aytos Pass, crews are maintaining road signs and the road surface. Between Lozarevo and Prilep, traffic in both directions runs in a single lane.

Detours are in place on the third-class roads between Polski Izvor and Bratovo and between Trastikovo and Debelt, where major repairs and resurfacing are under way.

Four sections are closed for repairs: between Valchanovo and Bistrets, between Yasna Polyana and Novo Panicharevo, between Dyulino and Gyulyovtsa, and between Rosen and Veselie. Traffic is diverted through Sredets, Sozopol, Primorsko and Obzor.
