Deputy prime minister and economy, investment and industry minister Alexander Pulev joined a meeting between prime minister Rumen Radev and his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk during the Bulgarian head of state's official visit to Poland.

The two sides discussed deeper ties and new ways to work together on the economy, energy, defence and transport. They focused on attracting investment, growing industrial and technology partnerships, and building up Europe's joint industrial and defence strength.

The talks showed Bulgaria and Poland have real scope to build closer ties in areas of strategic weight — defence industry, energy and high tech.

Besides the meeting with Donald Tusk, deputy prime minister Pulev also met Poland's state assets minister Wojciech Balczun. The two talked about widening economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries. They also touched on shared goals for a more competitive, safer Europe built on a strong industrial base, more investment in technology, and stronger home-grown strategic capacity.

Alongside the official meetings, a Polish-Bulgarian business forum took place, opened by deputy economy, investment and industry minister Mihaela Karadimova.

A Bulgarian business delegation also took part in the visit, holding meetings with Polish business representatives. The aim was to forge new business contacts and map out chances for investment, trade and joint projects in strategic, high-tech sectors.
