People of Varna participated in a protest against cruelty to animals. Protesters are demanding legal changes and more effective work from the animal police, expressing solidarity and demanding justice. They want strict punishments.

Following the protests in Sofia, the residents of Varna also expressed their outrage at the cruelty towards animals. This morning, in the maritime capital, a protest took place, uniting the people of Varna around the common cause of protecting animals and seeking justice. Those present sent a clear message for immediate legal changes to prevent the repetition of tragic cases, such as that of the dog Maya, which shook the public just days ago.

The meeting point of the protest was "Independence" Square, where dozens of people came out to express their solidarity and make their demands. The atmosphere was charged with determination, and those present insisted on radical changes. A major focus of their demands was the more effective work of the animal police, which should function within the Ministry of Interior. The people of Varna stressed the need for effective means of proving violence against animals, which in turn will lead to effective justice, including adequate sentences for the perpetrators.

In the eyes of those gathered, the voice of the protesters was clearly heard. "I am here because I am against violence against animals, against violence against people. A person who can do such a thing is a person who is harmful to society. Harmful, as much as a killer of a person", said one of the participants in the protest.

The long-term goals for improving the attitude towards animals in Bulgarian society were also not forgotten. "Stricter penalties would contribute, but it's not just about punishment. In my opinion, the very culture of attitude towards animals should be improved in Bulgaria", another protester emphasized, clearly outlining the importance of changes in people's minds.
