The "Progressive Bulgaria" party possesses 251 municipal and district organizations and 6348 members as of September 11, after expanding its structure by attracting sitting mayors, deputy mayors, and local leaders.

One example of a direct link to the party is Atanas Kalchev, the mayor of Chirim since 2007 and chairman of "Our People Movement." He was a PB candidate for parliament in the Plovdiv region but declined his seat in the National Assembly to remain head of the municipality.

In the Rodopi municipality, Pavel Mihaylov, who won his second term in 2023 as a candidate for the "BSP for Bulgaria" coalition, was elected chairman of the local "Progressive Bulgaria" organization by nearly 60 founders on August 28 of this year.

Similar processes are being observed at lower administrative levels. In Smyadovo, Deputy Mayor Ivan Kyurkchiev became the chairman of the local PB organization, while Mayor Ivanka Petrova remains with GERB. In Yambol, Deputy Mayor Encho Keryazov, and in Tundzha, Deputy Mayor Stoyan Petkov, who obtained a parliamentary mandate, are also among the personnel recruited following the parliamentary elections.

In September, a broader picture emerged regarding the initiative committee for presidential candidates Iliyana Yotova and Kiril Valchev. Among the 149 members of the committee are dozens of local government representatives, predominantly from the traditional left. The group includes the mayor of Gotse Delchev, Vladimir Moskov; Dimitar Zdravkov in Sadovo; Donka Mihaylova in Troyan; Lyubka Aleksandrova in Levski; Emanuel Manolov in Pavlikeni; Rumen Guninski in Pravets; Nikolay Mitkov in Parvomay; Pencho Milkov in Ruse; and Prof. Hristo Hristov in Shumen.

Another group within the initiative committee includes politicians with their own local profiles. These are Stanislav Vladimirov in Pernik, Zhelyazko Gagov in Panagyurishte, Yordan Mladenov in Peshera, Plamen Chernev in Suhindol, Lyudmil Veselinov in Popovo, and Dobrin Dobrev in Razgrad.

Representatives of GERB are also featured in the initiative committee. Diana Ovcharova, the mayor of Ivaylovgrad, and Dimitar Stefanov from Tutrakan, both of whom won their mandates with GERB support, are also part of the group. In the Burgas region, the mayor of Tsarevo, Marin Kirov, who was a GERB candidate in 2023, announced his personal involvement in Yotova's initiative committee. He stated: "I am joining Iliyana Yotova's IC to be the voice of the municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria".

In the Sredets municipality, municipal councilor Antoniy Dyulgerov has been elected chairman of PB, while councilor Ivelina Stoyanova serves as the organization's organizational secretary. Both were elected from the "Alexander Stamboliyski" coalition list.

The topic triggered a reaction from Boyko Borissov. He claimed that the "progressives" are targeting mayors of his party, threatening them and explaining what awaits them if they do not switch to PB, without providing specific names or evidence.
