Municipality of Nessebar Launches Cultural Heritage Preservation Program

For another year, the Municipality of Nessebar has launched a large-scale initiative aimed at the preservation and conservation of the city's unique cultural heritage. This is the "Together for Old Town Nessebar" Program, which is administered by the Municipal Fund "Culture". Through it, the local government aims to encourage property owners to actively participate in the process of restoration and maintenance of cultural monument buildings.

The initiative is fully funded by the municipality's own resources, which underlines the local administration's commitment to the cultural and historical wealth of Nessebar. The main focus of the program is to promote cultural heritage and encourage private individuals and organizations to assist in the restoration of the urban environment.

In a statement, the Mayor of Nessebar Municipality, Nikolay Dimitrov, emphasized the exceptional value of this heritage. "Nessebar has a unique heritage that must be preserved for generations. With the current program, the municipality is reaching out to the owners of cultural monument properties and to all who want to contribute to the preservation of the city's values and the popularization of Old Nessebar through various initiatives", the mayor stated. His words highlight the role of the partnership between the municipal administration and citizens as a key factor for the success of such endeavors.

The program, which is a set of different activities, will support both specific projects and broader initiatives. Among them are:

• restoration and socialization of buildings with cultural value;
• implementation of educational initiatives dedicated to cultural heritage;
• organization of various cultural and creative events to revitalize the city outside the peak summer season.

Applications for the program will be submitted within a clearly defined time period – from October 1 to 30. Those who wish to participate can submit their project proposals in person at the Center for Administrative Services in Nessebar, as well as electronically, using a qualified electronic signature.
