The first two 10-day periods of November will be colder than usual, and temperatures in the third will be close to normal, forecasters say. The monthly outlook comes from Bulgaria's National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

The month begins with rain. In western Bulgaria, on high plains and in low mountain areas, it will be mixed with snow or turn to snow. Skies will be largely cloudy for most of the first 10 days.

On most days in the second 10-day period, temperatures will be lower than usual. Cloud will last until about the middle of the period, and precipitation will mostly fall as rain. In the second half, the chance of precipitation will fall. Lowlands and valleys will stay mostly cloudy, with fog, while in the mountains the clouds will break up and temperatures will be relatively higher.

In the last 10 days of the month, the chance of precipitation is small. In lowland areas, cloud and fog will dominate before noon, and around and after noon the sun will come out in places. The mountains will be mostly sunny.
