Bulgaria's economy ministry is getting extra money in its 2026 budget. The government approved it in two decrees, the Council of Ministers press office said.

The first decree pays for support under the Investment Promotion Act and for the trade and economic offices abroad. Thirteen projects from different sectors will get support. The investors have promised to put in about €266.31m and create about 1,840 new jobs.

Part of the money covers commitments and obligations the state has already taken on, as the Public Finance Act requires. The same decree also raises the limits set in Article 19, paragraph 3 of the 2026 State Budget Act.

The government said the decision gives the state the money to apply the law on time and keep the trade and economic offices working.

The second decree covers severance pay for staff of the Consumer Protection Commission. Since the start of the year, the commission has ended employment and civil service contracts on various grounds. The pay is due under the Labour Code and the Civil Servants Act.

The money reaches the commission through the ministry's budget. It covers the severance pay and the mandatory social security contributions on it, where these are due. This means the state will not pay interest or late-payment costs.

Nearly €83m is set aside separately for introducing green technologies in micro, small and medium-sized businesses. Innovation and digital transformation minister Ivan Vasilev said this on 10 October at the Sliven Future Forum 2026.
