We Continue the Change has filed a complaint against MP Slavi Vasilev Vasilev, from the Progressive Bulgaria group, with the Anti-Corruption Commission. The party's press office says there is evidence he had a private interest and failed to declare it. The complaint falls under the Anti-Corruption Act and calls for a check on a senior public official.

It follows a vote on 23 September, when parliament scrapped its own decision from 31 October 2025 that had temporarily banned exports of fuel, mainly diesel and jet fuel, to other EU countries. The government proposed lifting the ban, and MPs backed it 121 votes to 42, with 23 abstentions.

Vasilev spoke in the chamber in favor of lifting the ban, saying it would help fuel traders, then voted for it. Records from the Commercial Register and the register of non-profit legal entities show he owns and runs East Petroleum EOOD, set up on 31 January 2025, holding its entire capital. The company's stated business includes wholesale and retail trade in oil and oil products, including exports.

The party points to Article 145 of parliament's rules of procedure, which it says carries the force of law. It requires an MP with a private interest in a matter under debate to declare it — when tabling bills, when speaking, and when voting in the chamber or in committee. We Continue the Change says Vasilev owes an explanation for not declaring his company while arguing the ban should be lifted.

Lifting the ban will push up the price of diesel, and likely other fuels too, the party adds.
