Last mosquito fumigation in Pomorie on September 14

The town of Pomorie is preparing for the last large-scale mosquito fogging campaign of the year, which will take place in the early hours of September 14. This final treatment, part of the established annual schedule, aims to ensure a peaceful end to the summer season for the residents and guests of the town.

The campaign is expected to begin after 11:00 PM on Sunday, 09/14/2025, covering all urban areas. To ensure the treatment is effective, it will only be carried out under suitable weather conditions, which guarantees the maximum spread of the substance and its impact on the insect population.

Pesticide Used and Recommendations

The pesticide Citrol 10/4 ULV, with the active substance cypermethrin, will be used for the treatment. This product is approved for use by the Ministry of Health under permit N 0292-2/29.09.2016, which certifies its safety and effectiveness. Although the pesticide is declared harmless to humans and pets, the municipal administration has issued a recommendation for citizens to take precautionary measures.

The doors and windows of homes should be closed during the treatment to prevent smoke and particles from entering the living quarters.

This last planned campaign marks the culmination of the local authorities' efforts to control mosquito populations, which during the warm months can become a serious problem for both the comfort of citizens and public health.
