Pomorie: Summer Season 2025 with Growth in Tourists

Yesterday, November 19, 2025, the „Dechko Stoev“ City Art Gallery in Pomorie hosted the presentation of the Municipality of Pomorie's analysis for the 2025 Summer Season. The event, aimed at the tourism industry and the public, revealed a significant increase in the number of overnight tourists, which gives hope for the future of tourism in the region.

The reports show an impressive growth of 10.61% in the number of tourists who stayed overnight in Pomorie in 2025 compared to the previous year. This positive trend reflects the efforts to develop the tourism industry and increase interest in the region.

Data from the "ESTI" program for the period from 06/01/2025 to 10/10/2025 indicate that 98,350 tourists from 107 nationalities stayed overnight in the municipality. For comparison, during the same period in 2024 (06/01/2024 - 10/06/2024), the number of guests was 88,916 tourists from 95 nationalities. This difference underlines the growing interest in Pomorie as a tourist destination.

Bulgarian tourists represent 59.42% of all visitors, which confirms the strong position of domestic tourism. Regarding foreign guests, a decrease was noted only for tourists from Romania (-1.31%). Against the background of the other countries, Ukraine recorded the highest growth of 78.82%. It is important to note that a significant part of these tourists are not typical vacationers, but temporary residents and refugees accommodated in local hotels through programs funded by the European Union and the Bulgarian state. The Polish tourist flow recorded an increase of 4.97% compared to the previous year, and the German – a remarkable 22.38% in 2025.

The analysis of the Municipality of Pomorie also shows changes in the structure of the realized overnight stays by category of accommodation. There is a trend towards shifting the tourist flow from the lowest and highest categories to the middle class facilities. Three-star hotels and accommodation facilities of class "B" are proving to be the leading driver of this growth, which reflects changes in tourist preferences and the development of the services offered.

During the subsequent discussion, Mayor Ivan Aleksiev acquainted those present with the Municipality's plans and goals for the upcoming tourist season. The proposal to increase the amount of the tourist tax, presented by the Consultative Council on Tourism to the Municipality of Pomorie, was also discussed. We will see what measures will be taken to implement these plans.

The event was attended by Deputy Mayor Yancho Iliev, the chairman of the Municipal Council Adam Adamov, as well as the head of the Regional Police Department - Pomorie, Chief Inspector Petar Todorov. Among the guests were Ivo Barzov - Aviation Marketing Expert at Burgas Airport, concessionaires, directors of municipal enterprises, municipal councilors, hoteliers, tour operators and restaurateurs. Obviously, interest in the future of tourism in the region is high.

The atmosphere in the gallery was lively, with many attendees from the tourism industry discussing the results of the season and future plans.
