The mayor of Pomorie, Ivan Alexiev, signed a contract for the financing of a project to renovate the building of the Old Court in the city. The project will be implemented together with the Turkish Thrace Development Agency and will turn the building into a "House of Culture and Traditions", promoting the heritage of the cross-border region of Pomorie-Kırklareli.

Today, at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, the Mayor of Pomorie, Ivan Aleksiev, signed a contract under the INTERREG VI-A IPA Bulgaria - Turkey 2021-2027 Cross-Border Cooperation Program to finance a project for the renovation of the building of the Old Courthouse in the center of Pomorie. The project "Shared Shores and Stories: Unveiling the Rich Cultural Heritage and Terroir of the Pomorie-Kirklareli Tourism Zone" will be implemented jointly with the Thrace Development Agency in Kirklareli, Turkey, and in partnership with the "Prosveta 1888" Community Center in Pomorie.

After the reconstruction, the building of the Old Courthouse will be transformed into a "House of Culture and Traditions" and will serve as a cultural center for joint work, promoting the heritage of the region and offering a space for cooperation between Pomorie and Kirklareli. The project includes the organization of various joint events, and virtual reality in the building will allow visitors to experience tours and routes showcasing the attractions of the cross-border region through VR glasses.

"Another good news for Pomorie. Another one of the iconic buildings in our city, a cultural monument, will regain its luster. The building of the Old Courthouse, although forgotten by time, still preserves its spirit and history. With its renovation, we will preserve it and adapt it to the needs of modern society, turning it into a common home of traditions," said Mayor Ivan Aleksiev.
