A police officer was injured in a clash with municipal workers in the village of Mechka.

Tension erupted in the village of Mechka when municipal officials from the Municipality of Ivanovo tried to execute the mayor's order to remove an illegal construction on a property of a 56-year-old local resident. Upon the arrival of the police team to provide assistance, the situation escalated into a clash, in which one of the police officers was hit and suffered a finger fracture.

The incident occurred on the morning of May 27, when the municipal officials headed to the man's home to execute order No. RD-09-250 of May 19, 2025, for the removal of an illegal structure. However, people gathered in front of the property and prevented the execution of the order. The police officers who were called to the scene were also hindered in the performance of their duties, which necessitated the use of physical force and the detention of the 56-year-old man for 24 hours.

A fast-track procedure has been initiated in the case, and the investigation continues under the supervision of the Ruse District Prosecutor's Office.
