High temperatures and calm seas along the Black Sea coast are keeping tourists on the beaches well into September. Full lifeguard staffing will remain in place at guarded zones until September 15, after which the number of personnel will be gradually reduced until the water rescue service concludes at the end of the month.
The Association for Management of Sea Beaches expects concessionaires to offer lower prices for beach equipment. "Many of our members have already decided to reduce prices so that more people can enjoy a seaside vacation in September," said the association's chairman, Simeon Tsvetkov.
The topic of sanctions against vacationers who ignore lifeguard warnings during a red flag has once again come to the fore. "Such a measure could be applied here as well, but it would require regulatory legislation and a clearly defined oversight body," commented lifeguard Ivan Georgiev.
The Association for Management of Sea Beaches assures the public that the beaches will remain safe and well-maintained until the end of the season. The organization encourages tourists to take advantage of the peaceful September days by the sea.
