DPS leader Delyan Peevski has hit back at interior minister Ivan Demerdzhiev, who linked recent bomb threats in Bulgaria to his 2 July hearing in parliament. Peevski spoke to reporters in the parliament lobby.

Demerdzhiev told MPs during the regular question time that the threats had risen at certain times in recent days. He said this happened after his 2 July hearing, when he gave details of flights linked to a parliamentary group leader.

"At night, instead of thinking about his wife, Ivan Demerdzhiev thinks about me," Peevski said. He said the minister clearly had a fever or his wife had not tucked him in, and the only thing he could do was give him a thermometer.

Peevski said the government should get some sleep, because those in power were very worried about him and made up nonsense every day. "I can't be to blame that the state is shaking with problems and that they simply can't govern," he said.

Asked about the visit of Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky's office, Peevski said he had no information and that questions should go to the prime minister.
