The Municipality of Nessebar is implementing innovative telemedicine services for elderly people living alone and people with disabilities

The project "Innovative health and social services in the municipality of Nessebar" is funded under the Human Resources Development Program 2021-2027 and is co-financed by the European Union. Its main goal is to upgrade and improve the provision of integrated health and social services in the home environment for people living alone with disabilities and elderly people unable to self-care.

A key element of the project is the implementation of telecare - an innovative telemedicine service that provides 24/7 monitoring and immediate response when needed for elderly people living alone with health problems and people with disabilities. The service includes automatic measurement of vital signs, two-way voice communication, an SOS button, GPS tracking, and a fall and immobility detector.

The project envisages the provision of hourly mobile integrated health and social services from specialists such as therapists, nurses, and home assistants. The activities cover meeting the daily needs of the users, as well as assistance in accessing other health and social services.

The indicative number of users is 64 people, with the target groups being people living alone with disabilities and people living alone of retirement age unable to self-care. The project will be implemented for 24 months, and the total amount of funding is 640,619.27 BGN in grant assistance.

The provision of integrated health and social services in the home environment plays an important role in preventing the social exclusion of vulnerable groups of the population. This type of service ensures that they will receive timely and professional support according to their individual needs.

Application documents for the project are submitted to the Social Care and Services Department in Nessebar.
