Nesebar Municipality and Obzor unite efforts to build an Archaeological Museum

The mayor of the Nesebar municipality, Nikolay Dimitrov, and the mayor of the town of Obzor, Hristo Yanev, inspected the progress on the construction of the new Archaeological Museum in Obzor. The two-story building is about to be completed, with two exhibition halls, a storage facility, work rooms, a cladded facade, and a landscaped vertical layout.

According to Mayor Dimitrov, the museum will contribute to the popularization of Obzor as one of the oldest settlements in Bulgaria and will affirm the Nesebar municipality as a territory with a rich cultural and historical heritage. The coastline of the municipality is the subject of systematic archaeological studies, and the number of discovered artifacts from antiquity and the early Middle Ages is impressive, which necessitates the creation of a museum for their preservation and exhibition.

The new museum will be an important element in the development of cultural tourism in the region, as it will enhance the prestige of the town and offer new opportunities for tourist initiatives related to the rich historical heritage of Obzor. The municipality is working on an approved investment plan for the development of each settlement, and Obzor has already revealed its high potential thanks to the municipal efforts in the field of infrastructure, maintenance of municipal property, and investments in cultural sites.
