Unexpected hail hit Pernik

In the late afternoon of April 26, Pernik was surprised by a sudden hailstorm. A photo posted on Meteo Bulgaria's Facebook page revealed the unusual weather phenomenon.

According to eyewitnesses, the hail was localized in certain parts of the city. "It was quite strange. One part of Pernik was completely dry, while puddles formed in the other," a woman commented under the photo. She added that the border between the dry and wet zone was literally at a traffic light.

The hailstones were the size of hazelnuts, which is relatively small hail, but enough to surprise the residents of Pernik.
