Illegal Migrants in Sozopol: 7 Detained

Late afternoon, minutes before 5:00 PM on September 21, border police conducted a vehicle check in the area of the checkpoint near the Sozopol village of Krushevec.

The operation, carried out as part of enhanced measures to protect the state border, led to the apprehension of seven illegal migrants traveling in a vehicle driven by a Romanian citizen.

According to preliminary data, among those detained are three Syrian citizens, three Palestinian citizens, and one Sudanese citizen.

The detention took place amid increased activity of border authorities in the region, reflecting the worrying trends of increasing migrant flows in recent months.
