Flooding in Sveti Vlas: Stadium Destroyed, Damage After Rain

The water element caused severe damage to the city stadium in Sveti Vlas, the mayor of the city, Ivan Nikolov, told BTA. The sports facility, which turns out to be among the most seriously affected objects in the city after the torrential rains, has suffered significant damage.

According to the mayor, the stadium is almost completely destroyed. "The surface has been carried away by the water, the pitch is covered with mud and deposits, the gates are warped," he explained.

The premises under the stands, including the changing rooms, sanitary facilities and other important spaces, are completely flooded. The water, with its destructive force, has penetrated deep inside, causing serious damage to the sports equipment, which previously served the training of local athletes.

The water element, which spared nothing, has literally destroyed the stadium. The grass surface is completely compromised, leaving behind a scene of destruction. "The view is sad, because this was the place where our children and the local team trained. We will do everything possible to bring life back to the stadium. This is an important place for the whole city," the mayor added with visible regret. A detailed assessment of the damage is forthcoming to assess the real scale of the disaster.

The heavy atmosphere of what happened is felt on the spot. The wind carries unpleasant odors mixed with the feeling of disaster. Dozens of city residents, gathered around the stadium, share their grief over the loss of the sports facility.

In addition to the stadium, significant damage has also been done to the infrastructure in Sveti Vlas. The local authorities report destroyed road surfaces and sidewalks, as well as flooded ground floors of buildings.

BTA recalls that the stadium in Sveti Vlas was officially opened in 2022, offering local residents and visitors to the city the opportunity for sports and entertainment.

Despite everything, hope is not lost. The mayor's office announced that tomorrow the cleaning of mud and debris from the stadium pitch will begin. "We call on everyone who has the opportunity and desire to participate in the initiative," the local administration said.
