Massive NRA inspections: What are the inspectors finding?

Since the beginning of the year, the National Revenue Agency (NRA) has issued 1,500 acts for unjustified price increases. Penal decrees for these have already reached 800, totaling 1.7 million euros, announced Anna Mitova, Director of the Communications Directorate at the revenue agency.

"Traders must prove whether the price increase is economically justified compared to the previous season or before January 1st," the NRA stated firmly.

Violations in "Kapana" and along the Black Sea coast

In the last two days alone, 36 establishments in the "Kapana" district of Plovdiv were inspected, with 10 violations identified – primarily failure to issue receipts and discrepancies in cash balances. The situation along the Black Sea coast is similar:

• Over 1,000 establishments inspected;
• 330 violations identified;
• A well-known nightclub on the southern coast was sealed due to systematic failure to issue fiscal receipts.

Control methods

Inspectors from "Fiscal Control" are applying strict measures, including:

• Test purchases using the "mystery shopper" method;
• Analysis of documentation from over 400 establishments to compare prices;
• Requirement to provide evidence of pricing policy within a 5-day period.

The campaign continues throughout the summer, with the focus remaining on compliance with tax and social security legislation and the Euro Introduction Act.
