Working visit to the USA: Ivan Demerdzhiev strengthens security cooperation

Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev has departed for a working visit to the United States. The main purpose of the visit is his participation in the international conference "Resurgence of Political Terrorism", organized by the US Department of State.

During his visit, the Minister will hold a series of bilateral meetings aimed at increasing the efficiency of cross-border crime investigations.

Key priorities of the meetings:

• Strengthening cooperation in the fight against money laundering;
• New mechanisms for countering high-level corruption;
• Exchange of experience in the field of law enforcement.

We remind you that at the end of June, Demerdzhiev held talks with John Gountanis from the US Department of Homeland Security regarding the deepening of the partnership between the two countries. The Ministry of Interior adds that they are ready to provide the necessary evidence to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) in connection with the implementation of sanctions under the "Magnitsky" Act.
