Dangerous violations in parasailing along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast

Following a series of extraordinary inspections carried out by the General Directorate "Civil Aviation Administration" and the Executive Agency "Maritime Administration", serious safety gaps were identified in the "parasailing" attraction.

The inspections revealed that some of the technical equipment poses a threat to the lives of tourists.

Main irregularities found:

• Torn harness straps;
• Lack of serial numbers and manufacturer data;
• Unauthorized repairs to the equipment;
• Missing or erased markings on the safety belts;
• Three parachutes were used without any accompanying documentation.

The Ministry of Transport has issued strict instructions to the operators. They have a one-week deadline to rectify the technical faults and 10 days to submit the required documentation for the equipment.
