Critical forest fire danger: Ministry of Agriculture introduces enhanced control and bans

Fire danger: MAF and EFA in full readiness

Due to the extremely high temperatures and drought, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF) and the Executive Forest Agency (EFA) have announced increased control in the country's forest territories.

Timely reaction and quick reporting to 112 are of key importance for limiting damage to nature.

Critical zones and current situation

At the moment, fire department teams and forest officials are containing hotspots in:

• The area of Topolovgrad municipality (over 1000 decares of affected forest);
• Sveti Vlas;
• Septemvri municipality (the villages of Vinogradets and Karabunar);
• Rila Monastery Nature Park.

Important bans for the fire hazard season

We remind you that it is strictly forbidden to light an open fire at a distance of less than 100 meters from the boundaries of forest territories. Violating these rules endangers both nature and the property of citizens.
