The creative spirit of Burgas: Nominations for "Young Artist of the Year"

The tradition continues – three bright representatives of contemporary visual art have been nominated for the prestigious "Young Artist of Burgas" award. The prize, named after Rusi Stoyanov, annually honors the authors with the greatest contribution to the cultural life of the region.

The winner will be ceremoniously announced on May 24 at 12:30 PM at the Burgas Artists' Society.

Who are the contenders for the prize?

• Valcho Valchev: A graduate of the "St. Cyril and St. Methodius" University of Veliko Tarnovo, a master of graphics and painting with a rich portfolio of participations in national biennials.
• Darina Gilyova: An artist from Pomorie whose work encompasses painting, scenography, and monumental mural projects. She is an active cultural figure and head of an art school for children.
• Yoanna Dimitrova Arnaudova-Naydenova (Yodidit): An illustrator and 2D animator whose project for the film "Leia and the Upper Land" won support from the National Film Center.

The award has established itself as a key platform for supporting the new generation of creators. Which of them will take home the prize this year remains to be seen on the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture.
