Five names in the "Vazrazhdane" selection

The chairman of the "Vazrazhdane" party, Kostadin Kostadinov, confirmed on bTV that the political formation is actively preparing its own candidate for the upcoming presidential elections. At this moment, the leadership is considering five names that are currently undergoing a discussion process.

"We have a procedure for nominating candidates. At the moment, five names are being discussed," Kostadinov stated.

Selection procedure

To determine the most suitable contender, the party plans to:

  • Conduct an internal survey among "Vazrazhdane" members;
  • Analyze external public opinion to see which of the candidates is perceived best by the voters.

The final results of the internal procedure are expected to be announced at the end of August.

Context of the elections

The topic of the presidential elections is becoming increasingly relevant, as today the parliament is set to vote on a draft resolution for scheduling the vote. October 25th is being mentioned as a likely date.

Meanwhile, the competition is already taking shape – Vice President Iliana Iotova announced that she will participate in the race, supported by an initiative committee, the BSP, and "Progressive Bulgaria".
