A car hit a 14-year-old boy as he crossed the road near a bus stop in the village of Gyulyovtsa on Friday, Burgas regional police said.

The boy, from the village of Orizare, has a broken left leg.

Police got the call at about 6pm. The BMW 320d, with Silistra plates, was driven by a 32-year-old man, also from Orizare.

The car first hit the kerb and then the boy. Police say the cause was speed that did not suit the road conditions or the situation at the spot.

Updated (19.10, 10:36): Police in Nessebar say the incident in Gyulyovtsa happened on Sunday, not on Friday as first reported. Police received the report on 16 October.
