The thirty-first United Nations Conference on Climate Change COP31 will be held in Australia in November 2026, bringing together over 190 countries in an unprecedented global dialogue about the future of the planet.

The United Nations officially confirmed the holding of a landmark climate forum that will have a decisive influence on international environmental policy. The thirty-first Conference of the Parties (COP31) will be held from November 9-20, 2026, with the unique co-hosting by Australia and the Pacific state of Tuvalu.

The large-scale event will bring together over 190 national delegations, including leading global experts, representatives of civil organizations, and corporate leaders. The main goal of the forum is a comprehensive assessment of the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the development of new strategic guidelines for reducing carbon emissions.

The leading thematic areas will cover critical challenges such as financing the ecological transition in developing countries, adaptation mechanisms against climate risks, and transformation of the coal sector. Special attention will be paid to the vulnerable Pacific islands, whose existence is threatened by rising sea levels.

The hosts from Australia have undertaken extensive preparations, including building specialized logistics infrastructure and introducing a simplified visa regime. Forecasts indicate that the forum will attract around 40,000 participants from around the world, becoming the largest global event dedicated to climate change.
