Catastrophe in Nesebar: Driver under the Influence of Alcohol and Methamphetamine

Late on the night of September 16, at around 00:25, a tragic road accident occurred in Nessebar.

On "P_rva" Street, opposite the "Perla" apartment complex, an Opel Vectra, registered in Stara Zagora, crashed into a pedestrian island.

According to police information, the accident was a single-vehicle incident _mdash_ no other vehicles were involved.

Driver under the influence of alcohol and drugs

The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old man from Stara Zagora, was detained.

Tests showed that he had been driving under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol concentration reaching 2.20 per mille.

Furthermore, a drug test showed a positive result for methamphetamine.

His detention is for a period of up to 24 hours, and a fast-track proceeding has been initiated.

The man was detained for violating the Road Traffic Act, related to the serious accident and the presence of two harmful substances _mdash_ alcohol and drugs _mdash_ in his blood.
