Accident on Trakia Motorway with material damage and minor injuries

On May 21, 2023, around 11:29 PM, on the Trakia Motorway, at the 358th kilometer in the direction of Burgas, due to driving at an inappropriate speed, a Volkswagen Golf car with registration from Shumen, driven by a 41-year-old man from Koinare, Pleven region, was involved in a single-vehicle accident. The car hit the left and right guardrails in succession.

As a result of the traffic accident, the driver's passenger, a 24-year-old man from Koinare, was injured in the right shoulder area, without danger to life, and was taken to the Heart and Brain Hospital.

The road incident caused material damage to the road infrastructure - six metal posts and ten sections of the guardrail were destroyed.
