Karadjov in Varna and Albena: Infrastructure and Sustainable Development

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov begins a busy schedule today, which will take him to key locations in the country related to infrastructure and sustainable development.

According to information from the press center of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), his visit today will begin at the port of Varna. There he will meet with the trade union organizations to discuss together the future of the key port terminals - Varna-East, Varna-West and the Ferry Complex - Varna.

The early morning hours promise a tense atmosphere in the administrative building of the port. A briefing for the media is scheduled from 10:30 a.m., which will provide an opportunity for up-to-date information regarding the development of the strategic port hub. On the spot, the Deputy Prime Minister will get acquainted up close with the functioning of the terminals Varna-East, Varna-West and the Ferry Complex, and a meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian Maritime Chamber is also planned. This will provide an opportunity for direct dialogue and discussion of current challenges and perspectives for maritime transport.

Later in the day, Minister Karadjov's focus will shift to the area of ​​local self-government. From 3:00 p.m. he will take part in the Annual Meeting of Local Authorities, which is held in the Albena resort complex. Within the panel "Investments with a future - opportunities for growth and sustainability", he will present to those present the policies for the development and management of state and municipal infrastructure, using the mechanisms of concessions and public-private partnership.

The annual meeting, organized by the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB), starts on October 12. The event is of key importance for the exchange of experience and coordination between the different levels of government. It brings together in one place nearly 700 representatives of local authorities, central government, business, the academic community, partner organizations and foreign guests. The presence of such a wide range of stakeholders underlines the importance of discussions about the future of municipalities and their sustainable development.
