The Agricultural Agency undertakes unprecedented preventive measures against possible fires during the critical summer period. From July 10 to September 1, 2025, a ban on mechanized maintenance activities for agricultural terrains will be in effect.
According to an order by Minister Dr. Georgi Takhov, the ban covers all activities related to mowing, cleaning, and removing vegetation between 08:00 and 03:00 in the morning. The goal is to radically reduce fire risk during the most vulnerable season.
Special exceptions are regulated for protected zones within the Natura 2000 ecological network. In these territories, activities are permitted only between 20:00 and 08:00, provided they are performed manually or with low-speed mowers.
When performing activities in these zones, it is mandatory to follow a specific technological sequence – moving from the central part towards the periphery or gradually transitioning from one end of the area to another.
Sanctions are provided for non-compliance with the introduced restrictions, in accordance with the current disaster protection legislation. Fines will be imposed on both individuals and legal entities that do not comply with the introduced fire prevention measures.
