The border police assisted the airport operator in an incident with blocked passengers.

The Border Police at "Vasil Levski" Airport received a signal on June 20 about passengers blocked between the plane and the terminal, who could not get out. Employees from the on-duty shift of the Border Checkpoint Sofia Airport were immediately sent, who established the problem. Since it is outside the competence of the border police and is provided by the ground operator of the airport, their competent employees were immediately called to open the electronic doors along the way to the terminal exits.

The Directorate General "Border Police" has no competence in the transportation of passengers, nor in the servicing of the terminal building, aircraft and service buses. In the case in question, the passengers could not reach the border control zone, but the border police have provided assistance to the ground operator responsible for the service of Terminal 2.
