Elenite: Rescue Teams Continue Work Following Flood

Hundreds of firefighters, police officers, rescue teams, and volunteers continue to work around the clock in the Elenite holiday village, announced the press center of the Burgas Regional Administration. Feverish preparations are underway on site to remove debris, mud, fallen trees, and vehicles.

Today, the teams conducted repeated patrols of all buildings to ensure that all citizens have been evacuated and to check for the presence of dangerous situations.

At the request of Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov, additional forces from the Ministry of Defense joined in to assist those affected. Two military modules from Atia and Lozovo arrived on site, including 45 military personnel, equipment for manual clearing, an excavator, and a front-end loader. The regional administration emphasized that the presence of the military has significantly accelerated the pace of work. The military is taking on the heavy clearing tasks, which frees up civilian teams to focus on other important tasks.

Dozens of machines are deployed on the ground, including excavators, front-end loaders, an amphibious vehicle, trucks, a water tanker, and tow trucks. These machines are working hard to clear the roads, remove mud, and remove fallen trees and vehicles.

Work continues without interruption in all affected areas. A tense atmosphere prevails on site, with everyone striving to contribute to the restoration of normal life.

The Regional Crisis Staff reminds residents that access to the area remains restricted. The staff also assured that the property of the evacuees is under constant guard.

BTA reminds that the complicated meteorological situation, caused by torrential rains in the Burgas region, has already claimed the lives of three people. In addition, the situation led to significant material and infrastructure damage. As a result, a state of disaster has been declared in the municipalities of Burgas, Tsarevo, and Nessebar.
