German law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into a suspected politically motivated arson attack at a construction site outside the headquarters of the defense technology firm Rohde & Schwarz in Munich. The incident was reported by Bavarian broadcaster BR24, with coverage also provided by the Reuters news agency.

According to BR24, the incident occurred shortly after midnight. Incendiary devices were thrown from a passing vehicle at the site, located in the Berg am Laim district of Munich. One of the devices ignited near construction containers, causing minor property damage. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Bavarian police confirmed to the media that two individuals—a 28-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, both of whom are Bulgarian citizens—were detained in the vicinity of the scene. Authorities added that they expect to provide further details regarding the case at a later stage. Rohde & Schwarz also confirmed that a deliberate arson attack had taken place and promised to release additional information soon.

German authorities are on high alert for potential attacks on infrastructure. As noted by Reuters, this tension follows the German government's conclusion two days ago that Russia was responsible for an attempted drone attack against a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig/Halle Airport last month.
