A large-scale rescue operation continues in the area of Pyasachevo village after a severe train accident, in which 13 freight tankers derailed, each with a capacity of 60 tons of fuel. The incident, which occurred in the morning, caused a powerful fire that was quickly extinguished by fire department teams.
Senior Commissioner Mitko Chalakov, director of "Fire Safety and Population Protection" in Haskovo, explained the details of the rescue operation. "We worked continuously all night. Initially, we cooled down the tankers, then transferred the remaining fuel to reserve containers. The compromised tankers were pulled out of the route," he shared.
The damage to the railway infrastructure is significant - about 100 meters of the route are completely destroyed. Experts plan to complete the restoration by Tuesday. Alongside the restoration activities, thorough environmental studies are being conducted.
Local authorities reassure residents that so far there are no reports of air pollution, with additional soil measurements pending. Electricity supply in the area has already been restored, which further alleviates the situation.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident was so large-scale that it became "like daylight" due to the intensity of the fire. The ongoing rescue and restoration operation is being directly monitored by journalist Tsanka Semerdzhieva.
