Parliament is due to debate a deal today under which Bulgaria will get back more than 15m euros in capital it paid into the Moscow-based International Bank for Economic Co-operation (IBEC), the parliament's agenda shows. The money will be repaid in instalments over 20 years.

This follows our earlier report on the return of the IBEC capital, when parliament's foreign affairs committee approved the deal.

The document settles all mutual claims and debts between Bulgaria and the bank for good, after Bulgaria withdrew from the agreement on how the bank is organised and run.

Today's agenda also includes the regular session of parliamentary questions, in which seven ministers answer MPs. Interior minister Ivan Demerdzhiev will be asked about documents seized from the firm KUB, which is caught up in the scandal in Baba Alino, near Varna. MPs also want answers on the many bomb threats against public buildings in recent days.

Questions to foreign minister Velislava Petrova concern the declaration against Russian aggression in Ukraine, which Bulgaria backed at a UN session. Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022.
