The history of June 1st: Where does Children's Day come from?
Today we celebrate the future! Happy holiday to all children and those who have kept the child within themselves. On the occasion of June 1st, "Yes, Bulgaria" sent a special greeting, reminding us how important it is to invest in the youngest ones.
The origin of Children's Day dates back to 1925, when the historic "World Conference for the Well-being of Children" was held in Geneva, Switzerland.
This event laid the foundations for global care for young people. As a result of this conference, governments around the world began setting dates for celebrations, aligned with their local traditions and cultural specificities.
Why do we celebrate today?
- To protect the rights of children around the world.
- To ensure better education and an environment for development.
- To emphasize that children are our most valuable future.
