Denmark Bans Drones Due to Security Measures

Denmark is banning all civilian drone flights this week, the country's transport minister announced on Sunday, on the eve of the European Union summit in Copenhagen. The decision comes amid heightened security measures and tension in the region.

The ministry explained that the decision was made to "simplify security work" for the police. The authorities cannot accept "foreign drones, creating insecurity and disruptions". The airspace over the Danish capital, as well as over the entire country, will be closed to civilian drones until the important event is held.

Denmark joins a number of European countries that have reported "drone incidents" in recent weeks. Reports of drones observed over military sites are not uncommon. Such observations were recorded even on Saturday, which highlights the urgency of the situation.

In the face of these frequent airspace violations, the defense ministers of ten European Union countries agreed to create a "drone wall". This is a reaction aimed at strengthening protection against potential threats from the air. Meanwhile, NATO announced that it has "increased vigilance" throughout the Baltic region. Tension in the region is palpable, with the actions of Denmark and its allies reflecting growing concern for security and stability in Europe.
