The Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Council for Electronic Media (CEM) are signing an agreement today at 3:30 p.m. to monitor the media landscape. According to the CEC press center, the document is being drafted in accordance with the Election Code and the Law on Radio and Television.
The specialized monitoring, which CEM will conduct during the pre-election campaign for the presidential and vice-presidential elections on October 25, 2026, will regulate compliance with professional standards, objectivity, equality, and balance in programming. The monitoring will include tracking the coverage of political candidates and reporting on the diversity of opinions in accordance with media and electoral legislation.
The elections for President and Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria will be held on Sunday, October 25. The voting schedule was adopted by the CEC in August.
