Tsarevo: Port Modernization, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Projects

The modernization of the fishing port in Tsarevo and the construction of wastewater treatment facilities in Varvara and Sinemorets are emerging as key highlights in the municipality's program for the next two years. This became clear during the public report on the activities of the local authorities during the first half of the mandate, the press center of the coastal municipality announced. Representatives of the media, along with local residents, attended the event, which was held in the central square.

Projects for boat docks in Lozenets and Ahtopol will also be included in the budget framework for 2026. In addition, the renovation of the coastal alley in Ahtopol and the creation of new public spaces in Varvara and Lozenets are forthcoming. Mayor Marin Kirov also announced that the administration has managed to attract an investor with a "Class A" certificate for the construction of a new medical facility in the municipal center. The municipality's efforts are focused on expanding the cultural calendar with new festivals and the development of social services, including programs for the elderly, support for families with reproductive problems, and the renovation of STEM classrooms in schools.

"Caring for people remains a main priority along with the development of infrastructure and the sustainable growth of the municipality," said Mayor Marin Kirov. He assured that the municipality has managed to secure funding for the repair of road and water infrastructure in the most affected settlements, as well as for the strengthening of bridge facilities and drainage systems.

We recall that the Tsarevo region suffered heavy damage after the heavy rains in September 2023. The floods caused the loss of four human lives, and the damage amounted to millions of leva. At present, with financial support from the state budget, the municipality managed to restore all compromised bridge facilities, as well as to strengthen the dams of the two reservoirs. The streets in the municipal center, especially in the area around the ravine passing through the southern part of the city, were repaired. In October of this year, record amounts of rain were again recorded in Tsarevo and several other nearby villages, which led to new destruction of the already restored infrastructure. The atmosphere was tense, with many of those present expressing concern for the future of the region.
