Burgas Celebrates 148 Years Since Liberation with a Rich Program

Burgas will mark the anniversary of the Liberation from Ottoman rule on February 6th with solemn ceremonies, the laying of wreaths and flowers, and a folklore concert.

Burgas will celebrate the 148th anniversary of the Liberation from Ottoman rule on February 6th with a rich program.

The celebrations will begin at 11:00 am on Atanas Sirekov Square with a ritual of raising the national flag and the flags of the European Union and Burgas Municipality. After that, a thanksgiving prayer service will be held.

From 11:30 am at the monument to those who died in the Russo-Turkish Liberation War, there will be a memorial prayer and a solemn ritual with the laying of wreaths and flowers. The laying of wreaths and flowers will also take place at the commemorative plaque of Gen. A. M. Lermontov and at the monument to the Russian infirmary in the Sea Garden.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the Liberation, at 12:00 pm in the Ethnographic Museum, the exhibition "The Hope for Bulgarian Freedom - 280 years since the birth of Sofroniy Vrachanski" will be opened.

From 12:30 pm on Atanas Sirekov Square, a festive folklore concert by PFA "Stranja" will be held.
