Welcome to the event location in the Elenite holiday village, where the disaster has left a lasting mark. Teams of volunteers from Plovdiv and Burgas are arriving to assist in the cleanup and aid efforts for the affected, according to the press center of the Regional Administration - Burgas.
Today, after the sky above the village cleared, teams of police, gendarmerie, and firefighters are starting a second patrol to assess the current situation and determine the priority areas for cleanup. Following an on-site inspection, we expect heavy equipment to begin the phased removal of fallen trees, mud, debris, and vehicles, as well as to clear the main access roads and infrastructure of the village. The atmosphere is tense, but filled with determination.
The restoration efforts will involve excavators, loaders, cranes, dump trucks, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, off-road vehicles, and a water truck, as well as teams for manual cleaning.
The tension is palpable as Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov makes a request to the Ministry of Defense for the provision of additional forces and resources from military formations. Five fire department teams are already working on the ground, as well as 30 employees of the Ministry of Interior. Representatives of the "Defense and Security" unit of the Nesebar municipality are also present, along with volunteers who provide fire safety, security, and assistance in rescue operations.
An inspection of the damaged buildings is forthcoming to assess their stability and safety for habitation. Afterward, specialized commissions will proceed to describe the damage and outline measures for restoration.
Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov, the director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Burgas, Senior Commissioner Vladimir Marinov, and the director of the fire service in Burgas, Commissioner Nikolay Nikolaev, are participating in the meeting of the operational headquarters, coordinating the efforts.
The situation in the Elenite holiday village remains under constant surveillance. The Regional Administration informs that there is currently no data on people at risk and that the actions for recovery and securing continue until the full normalization of the situation.
The mayor of Sveti Vlas, Ivan Nikolov, informs BTA that the evacuation of those affected during the disaster in the town hall building continues today.
