Basketball Club "Nesebar" achieved a prestigious success by taking third place at the international "Balkan Cup" tournament, held in the Turkish city of Edirne. The club's talented boys in the under-14 age group, born between 2013 and 2014, took part in the highly competitive event.
The bronze medals were secured after a series of evenly matched games and spirited play against exceptionally strong competition from teams across Turkey. The final record for the Nesebar basketball players in the tournament includes two wins and two losses:
- a victory over "Edirne" with a score of 51:28;
- a victory over "All Stars" – Istanbul with 41:37;
- a loss to "Kırklareli" with 27:37;
- a loss to "Çorlu" with 34:35.
For BC "Nesebar", this marks the second consecutive year of participation in this international forum. Throughout all the matches, the boys demonstrated strong character, fighting for every point until the final buzzer. The invaluable experience gained in Edirne is viewed by the club as an important step in their preparation for the upcoming 2026/27 competitive season.
The Mayor of Nesebar, Nikolay Dimitrov, did not hide his satisfaction with the performance of the young athletes, emphasizing that the award is proof of their enormous potential and sportsmanship. He added that the Municipality of Nesebar continues to prioritize investments in youth sports, as it builds character, willpower, and teamwork skills. In conclusion, the mayor extended his congratulations to the players and their coach, Stoycho Kukuchev, wishing them future success in the new season.
